Saturday Night -Whigfield

Da Da Dum Da Dee Da Da Dum… More people knew the words to this than for the Macarena and the dance was very similar. A tried and trusted favourite for DJs nervous about filling the dance floor of the local civic hall.

For those of you who miss the complex and heartfelt lyrics of Whigfield, the original in all its glory is in the video box here on this very page. Enjoy it one more time.

None of their subsequent singles had quite the same effect though I do recall that a variation on the Saturday Night dance was rolled out for their next record.
