Robson & Jerome -Unchained Melody

Last night on “Enough Rope”, Robson Green was being interviewed and in the course of the programme, a clip was shown of his performance of “Unchained Melody” on Top of the Pops. The memories and the cringing came flooding back as I recalled how that hideous, smarmy song never went away after weeks at the top spot. Mothers and housewives were entranced by the two prancing about in soldier uniforms and then singing this love song together. Although female Britain collectively swooned at the crooning pair, I never really found either of them attractive. But, for those of you who have rosy recollections of the Soldier, Soldier boys, here it is one last time on video.
