Pugwall
Saturday (or was it Sunday??) mornings never were the same once we lost the Orange Organics front-man Pugwall (Peter Unwin George Wall) and his epic series of the same name.
In the UK, we used to watch these glorious moments of Aussie stardom on Channel 4.
Pugwall was played by a chap called Jason Torrens. We all wonder what happened to him.
Pugwall left our screens after “Pugwall’s Summer” was played 2 or 3 summer holidays running on the show that was to become T4.
Ah, the innocence.

Unfortunately, I just discovered this rather sad appraisal of Jason Torrens’ life on Wikipedia:
“Jason Torrens (born May 1975, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian actor and musician.
Jason is best known for his role as Peter Unwin George ‘Pugwall’ Wall in the 1989 children’s television series Pugwall. Other notable roles include Dillon Renshaw in Neighbours in 1996 and Duncan in Newlyweds in 1993.
Jason was a founding member of middle eastern surf band The Reefers, and is currently the drummer in Melbourne heavy rock act Bugdust.”
Some things, you really wish you hadn’t looked up…
I REMEMBER THIS!! and he used to talk to the camera. i am sure i remember an episode where the were i an old peoples home and at the ennd the band played
I rember them playing with his band in an old peoples home, and an episode where he ran cross country for his scool and ruined his shoes.
The one episode that lives in my memory the most is one where they went fruit picking at one of their uncle’s farms – but I think that might have been tghe series “Pugwalls Summer”.
