Mr Frosty

The 90′s was an amazing era. You could even make your own ice cubes! Imagine that. Rather than using a freezer to make ice, or even ice lollies, you could use a snowman and his hat!

I remember seeing an advert for Mr Frosty through my old black TV box. Those were the days where you could actually call the TV a TV set and not a piece of art hanging off the wall!

When I finally got my hands on the Mr Frosty, I was thrilled. I had the best fun ever with it, for about five minutes. They called it an ice maker but all you could do was put the ready made ice into the snowman’s hat and mix it up with some flavours. The ice went everywhere, but hey, the little penquin pot it came with was somewhat cute, I guess. I don’t think I will ever forget the churning sound the snowman made when it was stirring up the ice- cheap mechanism!

It’s a great memory though and a very cute little toy. I was probably put off by it because I got ice everywhere and my mum had a go at me. Hey, I was about five and the snowman made me do it!
