Christmas would not be complete without repeats of this fantastic series of films. There are so many memorable moments, the Chinese orphan, Short Round, driving a car with boxes tied to his feet in Temple of Doom, the fight next to aeroplane propellers in Raiders of the Lost Ark and the infamous Venice boat chase in The Final Crusade.
The best part of Indiana Jones is that it taps into what every history student wished lay behind a tedious lesson at school or university – that history involved maps with big X’s on them, priceless and magical treasures combined with trips to exotic locations and exciting characters.
Harrison Ford looked great in these movies – but not as good as his glammed up leading ladies who made the most of 1930’s chic to waft around in prim dresses or vamp it up in Nazi leathers.
The Plane Fight with the Nazi
Jones takes on the meatiest man you’ve ever seen in a one-sided fight – until the aeroplanes propellers get involved, that is. Indiana Jones Fights Nazi around a Plane – Raiders of the Lost Ark
Who wouldn’t want to have a trip in a Zeppelin? Or to see Petra? The face melting spirits contained in the Lost Ark may put you off but Jones still has a great adventure.
