Fondue

Fondu, the ultimate in 1970’s classy dining. A novelty form of eating which involves dipping various foods in molten cheese. Originally a Swiss trick, Fondue soon became de rigeur in Middle England.

Fondue has seen a resurgence with the invention of the chocolate fountain. Cheap and available for hire, chocolate fountains have found their way into every ball, dinner and party in the land. I used a chocolate fountain at a presentation dinner one night and very nearly dipped my entire dress in chocolate. To avoid becoming fondue fodder, exercise extreme caution when mixing fondue and alcohol.
