DJ Luck & MC Neat

dj luck mc neatIn 1999 DJ Luck and MC Neat released “Do you really like it” which sparked a small phenomenon in people saying “we’re loving it” (like the MacDonald’s slogan) and “wicked”. Their blend of UK Garage was somewhat more palatable than what had been heard before as they lent a house touch to the rather DIY genre of garage music.

After looking for some decent footage, I remembered just how great their work was. “With a Little Bit of Luck” was famous for the lyrics that went “ta na ning ta na ning tan na ning ting boi” or something similar! “Piano loco” tapped into the salsa /Spanish influence that had gripped that particular summer of dance music (indeed DJ Luck and MC Neat were regulars on the holiday music scene). However, I think that “Master Blaster” correctly sums up their genre.

Just let us know in the comments box if you would like anymore videos or lyrics featuring here. In fact, I can’t resist this last video because the lyrics are so cheesy!

  1. Can I just correct you on your ‘facts’ about Luck & Neat.

They did not release ‘Do you really like it?’ That was DJ Pied Piper along with MC’s DT, Unknown & Mellody plus they didn’t do ‘Sambucca’ either that was only down to the Wideboys & Dennis G – Luck & Neat only featured it on their DJ Luck & MC Neat presents… mix compilation!

    Thanks!

  2. Well done Kieran. Nobody claimed this was a factual site. It isn’t wikipedia. This is what we can remember from growing up. So don’t shoot.
