Blackadder
Before Hugh Laurie had an American accent and limped around a hospital, he was dim-witted Prince in Blackadder. “Queenie” was hilarious with her indiscriminate orders to behead and whims attended to by none other than the acidic Rowan Atkinson. My favourite character by far was Lord Flashheart -played by Rick Mayall. His character could well be transported into any era of history!
The Blackadder series was most memorable for Blackadder Goes Forth -where the most famous scene (the last in the entire series) shows infantry being sent over the top of the trenches like lambs to the slaughter.
