Bill and Ted were the epitome of 80′s cool. With their long hair and jumpers tied round their waist, these “dudes” aimed to change the course of history, but not before they’d passed their history report. This film was notable for featuring a young Keanu Reeves.

A man from the future, Rufus, turns up in an electrified telephone box which turns out to be a time machine. He informs the boys – Bill S, Preston ESQ. and Ted Theodore Logan – that should they fail their exam, and Ted be sent to military school, their band, the Wyld Stallions, would never be famous and Rufus’ world would never exist.

In Rufus’ world, music is the basis of existence and they need the Wyld Stallions to exist. So he gives his time machine to Bill and Ted so that they might pick up a few historical characters to present for their report, with hilarious consequences.

Bill and Ted had a habit of saying “excellent” and then doing a little riff on the air guitar.  They also had a thorough appreciation of rock history – comparing many difficult concepts to things like album covers. Women in thie film are referred to as babes and the motto of the film is “be excellent to each other” and “party on dudes”.
