Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
The 90′s cartoon series was shown on Saturday morning TV and was very similar to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. It included lots of movie in-jokes and B-movie skits.
The evil Dr Putrid T. Gangreen has created an army of mutant killer tomatoes to help him take over the world. During the mutation process he throws out one that’s too big and slow, but it mixes with another experiment, and is transformed into a pretty girl called Tara Boumdeay.
She escapes with one of the tomatoes, her brother the fur-covered FT, who she passes off as a dog. She is chased, and gets rescued by a pizza-delivery boy called Chad Finletter. Together, they must try to thwart Gangreen’s plots and rescue his tomatoes when possible, aided by Tara’s mutant vegetable powers.
